Ministry Emphasis and Vision Statement
My heart's desire is to see people set free from the path of destruction, and saved by God's amazing grace. There is no greater miracle than that, but I also minister with an emphasis on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and healing. We need the Holy Spirit in our lives now, more than ever. We have got to have the power to stand, and reach the lost in this corrupt, and evil generation.
Biography
Donna Sparks is wife to Bryan Sparks, and mom to 2 beautiful teen girls - Haley and Hannah. They live in the small town of Lexington, just east of Jackson, TN. Donna is a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God. She travels and speaks as an Evangelist, and also as a women's minister for conferences, and special events all over the Nation.

Though Donna would describe her life as exciting and blessed now, she admits it hasn’t always been "picture perfect." Donna experienced a painful, and destructive past, riddled with heartbreak, failure, guilt, addiction, and depression. This is part of her story:

“My story is different from most because I did start out on the right path. I was raised in a Christian home, saved at age 9, and attended church regularly. Unfortunately, sometimes life can throw us unexpected curves, and based on our reactions, good or bad, the choices we make have the potential to completely change our trajectory. After going through two divorces by the age of 23, I was completely devastated, and to be honest a little mad at God.

My bad choices led me farther and farther away from God, and finally into a pit of darkness that seemed totally inescapable. But God protected me, and spared me while my decisions, and terrible choices almost destroyed me. Our God is a miracle worker, and because of His unfailing love, and never-ending grace I, "the prodigal daughter," finally ran back into my Father's arms.

Sometimes we have to get all the way down to the end of our rope, to let go and let God rescue us from ourselves. I finally repented, and turned my life back over to Christ my Savior. Still, because of my past failures, and the resulting guilt I was unwilling to release, I felt like I had no purpose. I honestly felt like God was disappointed in me or a little mad at me. But, His plans for me were far beyond my comprehension.

God moved my husband and I, and two daughters to Iowa, from Tennessee. I didn't want to go, and I felt that God was making a huge mistake. But it was in Iowa, that God called me into ministry, and prepared me for His future plans back here in Tennessee. Little did I know, my story was just beginning to unfold! What could have been the bitter end, turned into the beautiful "new beginning" of a journey that would change my life, and the lives of others forever!”

Donna is also a jail minister. She loves to encourage others to move on from a broken past, and expect a greater future. She mentors many women in stepping into their calling, and helps them to develop their ministries as well. She also has a huge heart for pastors wives, and strives to uplift and support them knowing how hard (yet rewarding) ministry life can be. Donna is also a writer, and is currently writing a book, which has been picked up by a publisher, and will be available soon. She is also frequently published on "Her Green Room."

My Vision for the Local Church in the 21st Century
My vision for the church, is not to just be visited by an evangelist, but to become one! Jesus is coming soon, and the laborers are few. Some individuals feel there is no way they could witness to others, but I believe we all have a "story of grace" to tell. I hope to encourage them to do that very thing. It's my desire to see everyone walking out the calling God has placed on their lives, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
My Definition of an Evangelist, and His/Her Role in Revival
I believe an evangelist is granted a great honor when asked to speak today. Pastors have so many things they have to fit into a year, it's often hard to take the time to allow an evangelist to come. But I believe the evangelist is needed today more than ever. When I go out to speak, I go as a support to the pastor. I'm not trying to sell products, and have no agenda other than Jesus. Nothing thrills my heart more than to see people saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit, and healed. I also strive to be an encouragement to the pastors, and especially their wives, as ministry can often be a lonely place. I hope to give that little spark of refreshment to the congregation, that compels them to draw closer to God, and expect more! My desire is to just come and be a blessing!
