Ministry Emphasis and Vision Statement
I have named this- "The Barnabas Ministry" because I believe that both pastors and laity alike need encouragement..which is the meaning of the name, 'Barnabas.' I try to help both the pastor and his people to see growth as people respond to the Word.
I was born June 29, 1932 in Waco, TX. I graduated from Waco High School and attended 2 years at Baylor Univ. in Waco, TX. I started pastoring at 17 in McGregor, TX. I married Elsie McCamey in 1952. She passed away in 2002 and I married Merrily Collins in 2004. I have 3 children--Jerry, Indianapolis, IN, Debbie Edgeworth of Bloomington, IN, and Alan of New Palestine, IN. I have 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
I have authored over 100 articles , mainly in the Pentecostal Evangel. I have pastored churches in Texas, Okla. and Kansas. The last church was Great Bend , KS where we stayed 18 years, saw 4 building programs and reached an average attendance of 670. I resigned there in 1991 and have been in evangelistic work for the last 22 years, averaging 46 Sundays a year.

My Vision for the Local Church in the 21st Century
My vision for the local church today is to help both pastor and laity to see growth as souls respond to the altar calls, receiving help through salvation, healing, and receiving the Holy Spirit. I want to work with pastors to encourage children, youth, couples and the elderly to help the pastor in promoting the Gospel in their cities.
My Definition of an Evangelist, and His/Her Role in Revival
I see my role as an evangelist as one who works along side the pastor, reinforcing what the pastor has been preaching. I have often been able to help the pastors who are going through difficult times, since I have pastored most of 40 years. I have seen some pastors use programs I suggested to them which have helped bring added growth.
